Synopsis of “After: Chapter 5”
The fifth and final installment of the adaptation of Anna Todd’s literary series is titled “After: Chapter 5” (“After Everything” in English). It is based on the novels “After Ever Happy” and “Before.” The tumultuous and passionate love story between Tessa and Hardin will finally reach its conclusion in this ultimate film, directed by Castille Landon and produced by Jennifer Gibgot (“17 Again,” “Step Up”).
In the grip of writer’s block after completing his first novel and heartbroken following his abrupt breakup with Tessa, Hardin seeks solace in Portugal to escape his demons. However, this journey leads him to reunite with Natalie, a woman he wronged in the past.
Encountering Natalie in Lisbon, Hardin seeks her forgiveness, as he had filmed their intimate moments without her consent during their pre-Tessa relationship. He hopes this reconciliation will bring him inner peace and aid his relationship with Tessa.
The perpetually tormented young man aspires to move forward and muster the courage to win Tessa back. In the end, Hardin realizes that he must change his ways before making the ultimate commitment.
